College students from more than 80 campuses nationwide have helped The Andrew McDonough B+ Foundation raise millions to fight childhood cancer since inception! All across the United States, college students, on-campus organizations, clubs, sports teams, residence halls, fraternities, and sororities are joining us in making a difference. Students organize, fundraise, advocate, and inspire as they raise funds and awareness through unique, meaningful and yearlong initiatives / events. We partner with college and university students and faculty to create successful and sustainable childhood cancer fundraisers on campuses by leveraging our mutual strengths. With our proven success in fundraising and event marketing, our first-hand knowledge of children fighting cancer, and your local volunteer resources, we can help you create a fundraiser that everyone can be proud of— and help fight childhood cancer. @udance , our dance marathon at @udelaware is the 5th largest in the nation! After spending 167 days living with Andrew in the hospital, we understand all too well how important it is to be with your critically ill child. For most of us, that means jobs, bills, and life outside the hospital come second. Unfortunately, we still have to find a way to pay those bills. That is why we provide financial help for kids with cancer through The B+ Foundation Family Assistance Program. Our program gives qualified families money for expenses that are attributable to their child’s cancer diagnosis. The goal of the program is to lessen the financial burden so families can focus on helping their children get well. We often help families with the following expenses and bills: 💊 Prescription medications that insurance won’t cover 🚗 Travel costs for treatment 🏠 Mortgage payments/ren 🎗️ And more In addition to financial support, we offer The B+ Hero Program in select areas across the country. This program is intended to make children with cancer and their siblings feel special while putting them on a much-deserved pedestal by matching participating on-campus groups (i.e. fraternity, sorority, sports team, student organization) with a child and their family. B+ Heroes are “adopted” by these groups and enjoy get-togethers, outings and just hanging out being a kid. Learn more about these programs and more at our website link in bio.

The Andrew McDonough B+ Foundation honors the memory of Andrew, a 14-year-old athlete and ‘A’ student from Wilmington, Delaware. January 27, 2007, Andrew helped lead his team to victory in a Pennsylvania state championship soccer tournament. Within 48 hours, he was in cardiac arrest. The diagnosis was AML Leukemia and doctors didn’t expect Andrew to live through the night. However, Andrew fought for 167 days before going to Heaven on July 14, 2007. Andrew's B+ blood type became his family and friends’ motto throughout his 167-day fight against childhood cancer – to “Be Positive” – as that is how he lived his life and inspired others to do the same. After Andrew passed away, his family created the foundation to create a better future for kids and families battling childhood cancer. Since its inception, the foundation has: 💵 Become the largest provider of financial assistance for families of kids with cancer nationwide 🧬 Funded over 250 critical, childhood research projects at top institutions worldwide, some of which have helped establish safer, more effective and even life-saving treatment options 🎗️ Increased awareness of childhood cancer and worked in collaboration with other childhood cancer organizations to more than double the federal childhood cancer research budget 🗣️ Spread The B+ Message and Andrew’s story across the world with over 1,500 speaking engagements and partnerships with schools, universities, companies, sports teams and more. Donate to The Andrew McDonough B+ Foundation to help us get one step closer to a world where every kid gets the chance to grow up! Link in bio.

At @bepositivefdn , we often cover medical bills that insurance won’t cover due to drugs being deemed ‘experimental’ and not yet FDA-approved for use in children. When a child is battling cancer, they deserve the best chance of survival, and we’re committed to helping families achieve the best possible outcomes!⠀ ⠀ #ChildhoodCancerFact 🎗️

Summer Memories ☀️⠀ ⠀ B+ Hero Danny’s baseball team made it to the championship game, and his brothers from @Delaware_fb came to cheer him on! Danny has built an incredibly close relationship with the Delaware football offensive linemen and hangs out with them quite often (even in the summer)!

💬TESTIMONIAL TUESDAY⠀ ⠀ “Kelly, a very close family friend of mine, passed away from childhood cancer in 2013. I joined B+ to make a difference in the lives of kids and families like Kelly’s by spreading positivity, funding research, and alleviating financial stress. I love being part of such an amazing community of people who have a shared passion for fighting childhood cancer. The B+ Foundation changes the lives of so many, and I know Kelly would be proud of the work our organization is doing. I just love UCLA B+!”⠀ - @elise__tsai , @UCLA Student, and @uclabepositive Community Events Director
