Keeping things simple this year. We are wishing everyone a HAPPY PRIDE from our sunny corner of Capitol Hill. Much love from your friends at Best Practice.
Come on in, the water’s art 🌊
Our Lil Dipper project began when a local art collector reached out to help reinvigorate his front yard with a new, modest-sized pool. Not only did he want a place where his grandkids could splash around on a warm day, but he also saw an opportunity to curate a personal sculpture park. Working together to select pieces that highlight certain features of the yard, we did just that. Explore Lil Dipper’s art collection below:
“Liquid Center”, a custom tile installation by the late Jim Melchert and his grandson Galen Melchert, mimics the illusion of wavering swim lines when viewed from the water’s surface.
“Snowman”, a piece from Mungo Thomson's series, depicts stacked Amazon boxes painted in bronze—a cheeky commentary on the ephemerality of consumption.
“Bill’s Fountain”, a custom bronze water feature by Jeffry Mitchell, depicts a fantastic animal in the tradition of Koma Inu, or Fu Dogs.
