#birthdayreflection , I want to start by saying how thankful I am to see this day. I have a wonderful wife and an incredible, creative daughter who loves me deeply. Even with the love of my family, this year has been the most challenging year I have ever faced. I’ve come face to face with grief and anxiety. I’ve never experienced these feelings and it’s very disrespectful. I’m used to smiling through tough moments, but this time, it’s different, the smiles are getting harder. Helping my wife build a church, losing my fam/brother, and trying to carry the load of making sure my close village is okay has been a journey. It’s like driving on an empty tank, but it’s on you because everything falls apart if you don’t hold it together. I thank God for my therapist. If it wasn’t for her, I know I would be in a hospital. Thank you,
@jmsymonette , for inspiring me not to be afraid to be vulnerable. If I can share any words of inspiration, honor your mental health. It’s extremely important. You can’t be good to anyone unless you care for yourself first. Put you first; mental health matters. Also, express your feelings with your family, friends, and loved ones. There is nothing worse than wondering how your loved one feels about you. Men, it’s okay to tell your bro that you love them. I promise you won’t regret it. Thank you, everyone, for the birthday love. I’m so grateful to know I’m loved and seen.
