Three time BMA nominee's The Reverend Peyton's Big Damn Band are "the greatest front-porch blues band in the world". They are led by Reverend Peyton, who most consider to be the premier finger picker playing today. He has earned a reputation as both a singularly compelling performer and a persuasive evangelist for the rootsy, country blues styles that captured his imagination early in life and inspired him and his band to make pilgrimages to Clarksdale, Mississippi to study under such blues masters as T-Model Ford, Robert Belfour and David “Honeyboy” Edwards. Their latest record Dance Songs For Hard Times went #1 on the Billboard, iTunes and Sirius XM Blues Charts and was produced by Grammy winner Vance Powell (Jack White, Chris Stapleton). The record is critically acclaimed by Rolling Stone, Relix, Popmatters, Guitar World, American Songwriter, No Depression, Glide, Wide Open Country, Paste, American Blues Scene and many more!

I’m really lucky to have had the Dad that I have. He’s like a big kid, up for anything, no ego getting in the way of anything, friends with everyone, and here for a good time always. He got me my first guitar, a cheap Kay, taught me my first chords and songs, and changed the course of my life forever. A few years ago I did some horse trading with Sam Ash (RIP), and we got this killer @fender Telecaster. @1929pickguards made the guard, and I just love hearing @oldmanpeyton play it. Happy Father’s Day to my Dad and to yours. I wish he could live forever.
They say don’t marry young, but they should say don’t marry dumb. 21 years ago today, I married the smartest person I have ever met. She’s the best thing that’s ever happened to me, and it just gets better. It’s gone so fast, and even when times are tough, they are easy peasy with my Breezy. I’m with her almost every second, and that still isn’t enough. To infinity.
Made it to California for a week of shows. Made a beautiful stop on the way to Point Arena. Point Arena, Santa Cruz, Long Beach, San Diego and San Luis Obispo this week.
As we roll into California, I’m looking forward to kicking off a week of California shows, but I can’t help but reminisce on how much fun we’ve been having on this tour.
