ANIMAL CHEER is out and streaming everywhere today!! So excited to finally share the whole enchilada with you! The link to order 12” LP is on my bandcamp page! I’d like to give a special shoutout to my old pal and collaborator Jason Quever / @papercutsmusic who recorded the lion’s share of this album in both LA and his house in Crockett, CA. I would drive up between Covid waves and wildfires, and we made a solitary kind of record mostly he and I on the basic tracks. Most were built off of my home demos and include a couple old chestnuts that have been waiting for years to be released! Synthesizers were (mostly) avoided, trying for a less adorned, organic landscape. Jason is an endless fountain of great ideas and brought so much to these songs! 🙏🙏🙏 Other special thanks goes to the ever talented @oliverhill___ for realizing and refining my string arrangements! He is an intrigal part of these recordings having the magic they do! I’m really proud of the songs on this one and hope they can give you a new window to look through while the world spins off its axis.. Featuring the brilliant cello of return collaborator and excellent human @kenoak 🙌 Also very excited to share this beautiful video made for me by the amazing @d.wakin 🙌 - a journey of flower hallucinations through a dark and cavernous realm..
