We were delighted to take part in Dublin Pride yesterday, celebrating the spirit of inclusivity that's at the heart of the public library service. Not even that weather could dampen it! 🌧️🌈 Thanks to @masambasamba for bringing the noise 😄🥁 📸 @benryanphoto 🤩

A snippet from MCing the @presidentirl garden party. The president noted the @black_andirish podcast as an important contribution to inclusive discourse in Ireland 🇮🇪 I almost feinted in the seat 😂 that’s the presidential recommendation right there 🥹 #president #presidenthiggins

A trip to the Áras -19th June 2024 It’s not everyday you get to visit Áras an Úachtaráin especially when the President Michael D. Higgins and Sabina are the hosts. For us, it was an invite to a Garden Party entitled “Communities in All Their Diverstities”. If you’ve followed me for even a smidge of time, you may have noticed that I have a fierce soft spot of admiration for Michael D. So, for me this was heaven. As a guest, both the house and the grounds are beautiful and inviting. You instantly feel at home as if we are visiting a really warm aunt and uncle where you end up asking yourself have the presidents dogs jumped up on any of the couches . (They are very inviting so I wouldn’t blame them) . The presidential paintings highlight how much we have changed and developed through our short tenure as a new republic. And it just fills you with a sense of pride to envision the past, the present and the future all wrapped up in one place. If you want to know if the food was good, it was fantastic and it had that sense of everyone was on their best behaviour, everyone knew this was special. This was unique and a once in a lifetime event. I can’t quite capture a word for the ambience but I think Michael D. is even funkier than I thought. The music was very cool with a line up of Muireann Bradley, Rachel Lavelle and Caleb Kunle and hosted by Leon Diop of Black and Irish At one point, Sabina turned to the guests inviting us up to dance. And when Sabina invites you up for a dance, you do not refuse. So, an utterly charming and life affirming day with gorgeous memories, new friends, and laughter and one I’ll probably tell everyone about for a good few years. #GardenParty #Summer24

Ask yourself one question at the polls tomorrow. Is the person I’m about to vote for a unifier or a divider? Will they make the challenges we face worse or better. Will they bring us together to solve our problems or will they turn us against each other. With a growing refugee crisis, the planet on fire and other potential threats on our doorstep, we need people who will unite us. Please vote for those people tomorrow. If you’re a unifier, let people know you are. #le24 #localelections #europeanparliament #useyourvote yourvoteforyourrights
