For her first major label release, Carter Faith’s “Blue Bird” features background vocals from GRAMMY winner Alison Krauss. We were lucky enough to hear the song debut at the Bluebird last year alongside co-writer Lauren Hungate. Lauren will be back In The Round next week with Tofer Brown and Laci Kaye Booth!
One of our favorite things about summer is the kickoff of our Bluebird on The Mountain series! For the last 20 years, we have brought some of our favorite songwriters to the Vanderbilt Dyer Observatory for one of a kind performances underneath the stars. Born and raised on the beautiful island of Kaua’i, Dondi is currently based in Nashville, TN. As an artist, she pulls inspiration from Hawaii’s very distinct musical tradition, straying from the normal island sound, while blending local sensibilities with heartfelt lyricism and dynamic hooks to create her own unique acoustic-pop.
As a part of this contest with @taylorguitars , Dondi wins a Taylor American Dream guitar, a trip to the Taylor Guitars showroom in Nashville, tickets to a Bluebird Cafe show, and much more! She will also be performing two original songs at our Open Mic Night on June 24th. Tickets will be available first come first serve when the doors open at 5:30pm.

A recent inductee into the Nashville Songwriters Hall of Fame and the newest member of the National Songwriters Hall of Fame, Hillary Lindsey has been writing songs since she was 10 years old. After moving to Nashville and attending Belmont University, Lindsey was quickly offered a publishing deal. In her first year as a signed writer, she celebrated a #1 hit with Martina McBride’s “Blessed.”
Throughout her career, Hillary Lindsey has worked closely with artists such as Little Big Town, Keith Urban and Carrie Underwood, collaborating on nearly 40 songs in Underwood’s catalog.
Performing at The Bluebird over the course of the last 15 years, Hillary has continued to sharpen her pen and deliver powerful songs. Join us in celebrating her induction into the National Songwriters Hall of Fame and swipe for 5 of her most notable collaborations, handwritten.
We see magic in this room every day, but last night was truly special. Our dear friend and parent of two Covenant School students, Justin Klump, put together a beautiful evening of music to raise money and uplift the community. It was an important reminder of the power of music and we loved being a small part of it 🩵
