It's time for another team introduction! This time, it is our Blue Sky Learning counselling team. We have six mental health professionals who provide counselling virtually to neurodivergent folks from age 6 up in Ontario, Canada. They provide individual counselling, family counselling, and couples counselling. Our clinical director is Michelle from the Relationship Agency. Our team of counsellors are trained in a variety of therapy modalities, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Internal Family Systems, Emotion Focused Therapy, Somatic Therapy, Strength-Based Therapy, Compassion-Bases Therapy, Psychodynamic Therapy, Trauma-Informed Therapy, Narrative Therapy, Mindfulness, Reiki, Psychoeducation, and more. They work with a variety of neurodivergent conditions, including autism spectrum disorder (ASD), attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD), anxiety disorders, depression, dyslexia, dyscalculia, trauma (CPTSD and PTSD), bipolar disorder, borderline personality disorder, and more. We also have counsellors who speak multiple languages, including English, Hindu, Punjabi, and Urdu. We strive to provide a service where clients feel safe, supported & intersectionally understood. Neurodivergence was coined by autistic activist Kassiane Asasumasu to describe conditions where neurocognitive functioning diverges from dominant societal norms. There are several conditions under this umbrella that all have commonalities. One common challenge is difficulties with friendships. If you identify under this neurodivergent umbrella, do you find friendships challenging? Meet this post. Homeostasis involves the automatic processes that you take to maintain steady internal bodily systems, including temperature. This is connected to interoception, which is your ability to sense the internal cues necessary to keep you functioning.
