✨ Improvisation Competition Registration Closing ✨ Your have ONE MORE DAY to register for our upcoming Improvisation Competition! Registration closes July 21 at 11:59pm. Need more information? Read on! Our Improvisation Competition is taking place on July 22 from 12pm-1pm via Zoom meeting and you can participate from anywhere in the world! Flex your improvisational skills to receive scoring and feedback from industry professions, plus have a chance to win prizes! We will be awarding $250 in cash prizes and much more in scholarships. How does it work? Each participant will be spotlighted individually for their turn to improvise. The improvisation will last form 45-60 seconds and will be to a randomly selected song within the dancers desired genre. Our judges are Nicky Garrett and Nicole Clinton. ✨ Choreography Competition Adjudicator ✨ We are so excited to welcome @nakitarees back to our Choreography Competition judging panel! The energy that Nakita brings is incomparable and we know that she will help to make the Choreography Competition a stellar experience for all participants! Read Nakita’s biography below: “From professional performances to choreography, Nakita has been immersed in the dance world for the last 26 years. Born and raised in Cambridge, Ontario, Nakita has advanced training in ballet, lyrical, jazz, and hip-hop, with extensive training in acro, tap and contemporary. Nakita is a member of the Professional Adjudicators Alliance, has completed an Honours Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology-minor Psychology Degree at the University of Waterloo, a Bachelor of Health Sciences in Athletic Therapy at Sheridan College, and her Registered Massage Therapy Certification. Nakita continues to pursue her passion for dance and enhance her knowledge as a choreographer, teacher, and adjudicator, all while running her own Athletic Therapist/Massage Therapy practice. Her mission as a Therapist is to bridge these two worlds together via injury prevention, ensuring dancers receive the absolute best training and therapy they possibly can. Nakita took on the role of Captain for the Waterloo Competitive Dance Company for the entirety of her university degree, where she brought the team to a standing of Third Overall Top School in Canada and Rhythm Cup Champions. She trained with a professional contemporary based company in Toronto Ontario named Kalos Collective, where she was training with top choreographers throughout the region. Nakita was a featured dancer in “Inverse”, a contemporary show in Toronto Ontario, as well as a featured dancer in the 2015 Miss Canada Universe Pageant. Some of the top highlights of her choreography recognitions include 2 National Grand Championships at Starbound National Talent Competition, multiple MOVE Dance Finalists and Top 3 standings, and the Young Choreographers Award.…” Read Nakita’s full biography on our website 🤍
