New study documents what happens to PFAS during incineration 🔥🔬 As the industry continues adapting to what’s emerging, BC’s experts continue cutting-edge research evaluating PFAS destruction technologies for wastewater biosolids. This @water_research and NACWA research proves PFAS can be degraded and potentially destroyed by incineration: https://ow.ly/4vEE50SlbgJ 🌟Research highlights 🌟 🧪Greater than 95% of the PFAS compounds detected in biosolids did not escape the stack. 🧪PFAS compounds when detected in the stack exhaust were short-chain PFAS compounds. 🧪The PFAS compounds detected in the biosolids were longer chain compounds than those detected in the exhaust, pointing to breakdown of PFAS compounds in the incinerators.
