Please join us this Saturday for the opening reception of Days Like These, an exhibition featuring the latest paintings from Justin Lyons and Terry Urban. Each work reflects the zeitgeist of our rapidly evolving world and offers a glimpse into the artist’s inner world.
Justin Lyons is a self-taught artist from the Florida panhandle. His inspirations are most often triggered by a word, phrase or thought, which in association with the other elements within the work, intend to try and tell a story without giving away too much, letting the viewer interpret his own connection to the piece. Lyons aims to create art that’s approachable to everyone and the human element within.
Terry Urban was born in Cleveland, Ohio, and grew up in a family of Irish American heritage and under the guidance of his Cherokee stepfather. A town known for its resilience and hardworking spirit greatly influenced his art, which often reflects themes of determination, perseverance, and struggle. Urban’s paintings explore the subject of the human conditions, often depicting dark imagery that reveals the complexities of the human psyche.
