And just like that…we have a brick wall!
Our first time installing a brick wall and we couldn’t be happier!
This project took us 3 days to complete! Day 1 & 2 was all about cutting and putting the brick up. Day 3 was putting the mortar in the cracks and finishing it up!
Thanks to @oldmillbp for the amazing brick! They helped us match the brick on the exterior of our home! Funny story about this dresser…I found a different one on marketplace initially. When I went to pick the other one up I realized @refreshed_by_jess is who I was meeting! 🫶
She talked me into this one instead and I’m so glad she did! I just think it’s crazy how small this world is and forever grateful our paths crossed!
This part of the office makeover is finished and what a huge piece to finish! I love how this $100 dresser from FB Marketplace fit the style of our space so perfectly!
I chose to keep the patina of the aged brass handles as they were!
We also added some aquatic friends to our office! Finn the Beta fish and Bert and Ernie the dwarf frogs! I seriously love fish tanks! They bring so much calm to a space for me 🫶
But, this office makeover isn’t finished yet! We still have two sets of sliding doors to install! An accent wall that I haven’t even told you anything about yet 🤫 keeping it a secret a bit longer until we start it here in the next week 🥰 oh, and we are building a custom office desk for this space too!

It just dawned on me…I haven’t touched my bow in over a decade! 🤯
Yesterday I changed that and officially dusted her off! It felt amazing!
It doesn’t matter if it’s power tools or Archery. I’ve always been into stuff that most women aren’t into! The older I get the more I realize that is perfectly ok!
Knowing that Penelope will be opened to so many experiences that may or may not be a typical “female” thing makes me tear up with joy.
If she ends up being a girlie girl about hair and nails. I will support that also!
I liked being out in the woods riding around in my truck in high school and college. I got my first compound bow when I was a teenager. She was a Bear 1989 hand me down but she taught me to love archery!
It’s crazy what moving to a big city can do for some of your outdoor hobbies. It was hard to find places to do archery in Orlando. So I gave it up for over a decade.
We found a range 5 minutes down the road from us recently!
It’ll be nice to go weekly and just have me time and get back into it! I really do love being outdoors!!!

When people are shocked at what we do it kinda blows my mind still to this day.
I mean think of our grandparents era. They did everything for the most part in and around their homes.
I remember my grandparents saying they put a new roof on their home in Miami when they were our age! I still to this day think that’s so crazy to think they did that!
But, it’s also a daily reminder. That machines are not fixing our homes or building them. People are doing this work with their bare hands. Why can’t I?

Part 2 of the office build is well underway and almost done!!!
I still can’t believe how this space is coming together.
It’s amazing what you can do with some imagination, planning, learning and executing your plan.
DIY is all about figuring it out as you go. Having a plan is great but knowing you may have to pivot here and there will make your journey through it better.
Keep an open mind and find a way to love the process of it the most! The destination will come, don’t rush it.
This second phase of this office is by far the biggest aspect and hardest. We built these 8’ bookshelves and have a 6’ dresser still to go and install.
But, it doesn’t stop there…we also have a hidden pocket door to install within the bookshelves!

Part 1 Dining room turned Office Makeover is done✅
We painted the entire room including the ceiling…minus the window wall 🧐 we have plans for that wall, so stay tuned! Any guesses what is going on that wall?
We also replaced the fan that has 5 different white light options! Which just makes me so happy! I love being able to control the lighting in a room. Never Underestimate how much a Light Bulb color can change a room color!
Next we are heading into phase 2 of this makeover. We were going to do the desk next….but, we are pivoting to the bookshelf and hidden door wall! Yes, I said a hidden door!!!! 💪🏻 This is by far the most exciting and equally stressful project for this room for me!

We love how this @zinus couch found on Amazon fit this corner so perfectly! It is a sectional that can be configured many different ways. We love the square configuration for this space and creating another cozy space in our home!
I can see this space as the perfect Mom and Dad Valentine’s Day Date spot for us!
We are calling this space in the office THE COZY CORNER!
We still have paint to touch up. An accent wall to install on the window wall and 3 other phases before this office is complete!

Hi it’s me, I’m back!!!
Learned something new today 🤣 The projects must go on even with hiccups and this yuck weather! Anyone struggling with non-stop rain lately?
So, we are making the most of it! At least I did after spending 20 minutes trying to figure out why my new nail gun wasn’t working🤦🏻♀️
I’ll preface this with…our old nail gun of 10+ yrs died on me. I went to buy a new one and the joke was on me 🤣 I don’t mind a good safety feature on tools but was not expecting that one 🤦🏻♀️
Good news, I kept plugging along on a couple projects I needed to get started!!!
We have an office build out, dining nook makeover, backyard makeover and the final side of the garage to get organized in this first half of the year! There will be a few small builds in between the big ones too!

Who doesn’t love a good shirt upcycle? This upcycled flannel shirt wreath is very easy! You can find all these supplies for so cheap! This is a beginner and budget friendly project!
We got the old flannel shirts from goodwill for only $5. You can also look in your closet for an old shirt you don’t use anymore. The wreath forms I found at the dollar store for $1.25. Any glue gun and cutie little bells or whatever you want to decorate your wreath with will work! Get creative with it! What color flannel shirt would you use?
