Two of my longest friendships and our continued love affair with music & dance.
STORY TIME: When we were teenagers we auditioned for an adult hip hop troupe Culture Shock San Diego. All three of us made it and were the youngest on the troupe. After a while everyone started calling us the “The Barbie Crew” (Barbie Blue🙎🏼♀️, Barbie Jew🙎🏻♀️ and Barbie-Q🤦🏾♀️) Being a part of CSSD were some of the best feeling memories of my adolescence and my relationship with dance.
Fast forward a year and some change later, The Barbie Crew took a road trip to LA and auditioned for a dance agency. All three of us got signed. We were professional dancers together for a moment in time. And then life had plans for us individually and took us down completely different career paths.
Fast forward 20 years and lifetimes later, The Barbie Crew is still intact and so is our collective joy with dance✨

United we stand. Know your worth!
With modern day technological advancements failing to incorporate fair standards between @sagaftra and the AMPTP we as artists and creatives have no other option but to stand tall, stand proud and rally for change.
The term “bullying” is not one I throw around lightly. Hollywood executives making tens of millions refusing to respectfully take care of their creative partners is a sad reality. They wield their wealth as a weapon and it is brutal.
Residuals, keep actors, writers and many more alive between jobs, sometimes for great lengths and studios whose “cup runneth over” still leave us begging with thirst.
Stand tall. Stand proud. Stand with the creatives who bring the characters you love to life. Help us stay alive to perform for you!
