I’d like to thank Bill Ostroff and the entire team at
@firstglancefilmfests for all the incredible work they do to make this festival happen, and for providing indie filmmakers like myself such an amazing venue to showcase our work. Thank you as well to our writer,
@markbrownzonk , for your beautiful script and enduring friendship and support, and to our producer, Tron Sutton, for believing in my vision and truly caring about the arts and education. I’d also like to congratulate
@karianakarhu for her brilliant performance as the title character, Hope. You are a joy to work with and a true talent.
I am deeply honored and humbled to receive this award. This project has been a testament to the dedication and talent of the incredible young crew at Artisan Center Theater, who worked tirelessly alongside me. Many of them embarked on this journey with “Hope” as their first foray into the world of film production, and it fills my heart with joy to see their hard work recognized tonight.
“Hope” is a film about the power of compassion, but it’s also a call to action, a plea to continue the conversation about mental health in our country and to find effective ways to prevent further tragedies like school shootings, which have claimed far too many innocent lives.
I’m proud to announce that Mark Brown has completed the feature-length version of
@thefilmhope and we’re actively seeking investors to help us bring this important story to a wider audience. Together, we can amplify the message of “Hope,” ignite discussions, and drive meaningful change.
Thank you to everyone who has supported us on this journey. This award is not just a recognition of our work—it’s a testament to the power of storytelling to inspire, to provoke, and to unite us all.
Thank you.
