@deeppurple_official have released the second single from their upcoming 23 album, =1. Pictures Of You follows the release of Portable Door last month, and is part of a digital EP that includes that song alongside live versions of When A Blind Man Cries and Uncommon Man, recorded live at the Mediolanum Forum di Assago in Assago, Italy, in October 2022.
Previously unseen footage of Eddie Van Halen jamming with Leslie West and Corky Laing at a club in Los Angeles has emerged online. The clip comes from a Mountain show held at the House Of Blues in West Hollywood, CA, in August 2002, and shows Van Halen joining the band onstage for a version of Never In My Life, from Mountain’s 1970 album Climbing.

Two years after it was originally announced, a release date for the fourth album by Detroit legends the MC5 has been announced. Heavy Lifting, the follow-up to 1971’s classic High Time, will be released via earMusic on October 18, the day before the band are inducted into the Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame. A single, Boys Who Play With Matches, is out now.

@alisonkrauss have released a live version of When The Leveee Breaks, first recorded by Memphis Minnie and Kansas Joe McCoy in 1929. The song, which was made famous when Led Zeppelin reworked it for Led Zeppelin IV, has been part of Plant and Krauss’s set since 2007.
