Today marks the start of @roskildefestival . But did you know that Roskilde Festival is more than just a festival? Next to the festival grounds, a former concrete factory has been transformed into @roskildefestivalhojskole . Completed in 2019 and designed by @cobearchitects and @mvrdv , this old industrial complex now houses a folk high school. The repurposed concrete girders and pillars, which originally framed a single open space, form a robust counterpoint to 16 individually colored boxes, creating a sheltered learning environment for social engagement. The latest #cobenotes is here! Our Head of Urbanism, Mads Birgens, takes you through Cobe's proposal for a new Finger Plan of Copenhagen. As one of five finalists in the 'Finger Plan 2.0' competition, our proposal respects the legacy of the 75-year-old plan for regional growth in the Danish capital, while addressing current challenges like increased car parks, endless asphalt, urban sprawl, and cherished green wedges. Dive into the full Cobe Note via the link in our bio.

On the occasion of @realdaniadk ’s 25th anniversary, Cobe, along with @revaerk_arkitektur , @archival_studies , @pihlmann , @rumgehoer , and @studioxyz_ , presents four meeting places that will support communities across Denmark. The meeting places are a series of small communal houses and open pavilions known as: The Workshop, The Conservatory, The Nature Base, and The Community Roof. The ambition is to create as much community with the least possible environmental footprint and build from resources that already exist. The meeting places will be built with as much recycled materials as possible, surplus materials, natural, biogenic materials and constructed for future disassembly and recycling leaving no physical traces on site. At least 150 meeting places will be built in 2025 and 2026 around Denmark. We’re proud to be part of this initiative, bringing people together in new ways and inspiring local gatherings. Come and experience the aesthetic islands of wellbeing that are formed when visionary architecture meets extraordinary design. “I think it’s important to talk about wellbeing because it’s what binds architecture and furniture together. It’s a deliberate choice on our part to be a little bit curious about what the future will bring.” – Christian Andresen, Head of Design at Fritz Hansen June 12-14 at 10:00-18:00 See you there!

Celebrating 10 years of Inner Nordhavn! Once a locked-down industrial port, now a vibrant city for people. With space for life along the quays, blending transformed industrial buildings with new architecture, and thriving with local shops, and eateries, Nordhavn has become a unique and integral part of Copenhagen. We’re honored that our project has received the City of Copenhagen’s highest award for architectural excellence earlier this week. Huge thanks to @sleth_architects , and CPH City and Port Development for the collaboration throughout the years. Images: @cobearchitects and @rasmus_hjortshoj
