This newest version of Grounded is extremely special to us! If you've ever had a chance to try Grounded before, then you know we focus on displaying incredible coffee from amazing farms and an amazing roaster! To us, the stout base of this beer is meticulously designed to add body and mouthfeel while getting out of the way of the coffee we put into it!
This time, we got the very special opportunity to cold extract super fresh whole beans. These beans were expertly roasted by our friends @confidentcoffee . They hail from Guatemala from incredible farmers @fincaeljardinguatemala . However, what makes them extremely special is the couple, farm, and process these beans come from. A true micro lot, this coffee is from 4th generation coffee farmers, it also goes through a special Anaerobic fermentation (fermenting with no oxygen). This process enhances the sweetness and fruitiness of the coffee!
This coffee is SPECIAL! We are so thankful to Confident for sharing this coffee with us!
Also, we have now started selling bags of Confident Coffee to go in our Bentonville taproom! We have a few bags of Guatemala - Pablo and Eva Del Cid! Tasting a pour over and the beer side by side is such a fun experience!!

When your espresso machine is also a piece of art. It was fun showing her off this weekend at the #sca expo in Chicago and getting to demo how it works to others in coffee. Big shout out and many thanks to @brewgrindwater for inviting us to share their booth so we could talk about our company and sample our espresso. We had a blast and made lasting connections. Now, back to reality ❤️

Cecilia Genis is the fourth generation coffee farmer of Zalmari Estate in Costa Rica. Her family founded the farm in the 1920s and her mother Marigold taught her every aspect of the business growing up. In 2000, Cecilia and her mother started their own micro processing plant so they could control the quality of their coffees and the environmental impacts from start to finish. Their milling process is done with reduced amounts of water and anaerobic oxidation tanks to ensure that the water flowing back to the rivers is clean and protects the natural flora and fauna in their forest.

Ceci’s farm is located in the micro-region of Cachí, Orisí Valley in Costa Rica. It lies between volcanic mountain ranges and contains leguminous shade trees throughout the land. She farms 100 hectares of coffee of which 80 hectares are rainforest protected land.

If you haven’t tried this micro lot yet, we highly recommend giving it a try. It is a yellow honey processed coffee that boosts flavors of chocolate, caramel, cherry, almond and sweet floral notes. It has a sparkling acidity and rich body.
The past couple of weeks have been a whirlwind with the launch of our new downtown Springdale location. Thank you to everyone who helped make this new space a reality. We had 5 days total to paint (painting brick is not for the faint of heart 😆), install new equipment and furniture, train team members, clean and set-up all the many details that go into building a coffee shop. I am so thankful for my awesome team and for all our loving customers who came out for our Grand Opening and have continued to pop in throughout the week. I couldn’t feel more proud and I can’t wait to see what the future holds ❤️
