Trying to post a recap of this gig, when the band have my favourite photos already but also wanting to mix it up was a challenge, because I went straight back to being indecisive 😅 Tuesday was a manic night, from the start of the Andro set all the way until the end of the gig, but seeing that energy pick up for the guys rather than afterwards was a great feeling. Seeing the lads growing a following and on stage more and more every song will never not be rewarding, and Bournemouth always shows that in force! Thankfully I bought a new lens last month, because 90% of this gig not only was on it, but wasn't possible without it either! This is easily the most club feeling place I get to work semi-regularly and a wider lens really felt at home here. Loving the colours I'm getting, the tweaks I've made to my editing over the last two gigs and everything about it more than I have in ages. Just as the countdown to tour is starting to ramp up as well! 💫 The Last Dance 💫 Last Sunday was the official last ever Comets match, barring any one-off occasions that could hypothetically occur. With everything wrapped up, I'm going to do an insta and also fb summary of everything I was around for and my favourite photos, but for now, here are my favourite action shots from last Sunday. Also edited in a slightly different style to my usual football approach, which I'm curious if it would have been noticed if I didn't say anything, and if it works for potentially continuing with next season elsewhere. Going down in about twenty seconds I thought this might have been an awkward send off, and whilst we never got into top gear, it was a high scoring game with, as always with these lads, a lot of funny moments and a mini-social after. It felt like a pretty good sendoff to one of the most fun eras of my life. A few of my favourite shots from a great night with Andro in Southampton last night Between a great set, full of new songs that annoying aren't out yet because they're all I want to listen to, a lot of laughs, getting to catch up with @rcphotouk for a bit and a solid bill all around. This couldn't have been much better.. oh wait, there was lush pizza, pool and a beer garden. But after ALL of that, this one was a special one! Seeing a crowd that wasn't there for Andro, or their genre of music, who might not even known them get really into it was as fun as ever. Back to back gigs after the break let's go! After finding my plans for the afternoon were starting to look shaky, I made a judgement call to head over to Bristol with mum to watch a few bands and photograph a little matesfest, just for myself to get back into it after the struggle of the first gig. Luckily Exchange Main is one of my favourite venues lighting wise, so this really helped get me back into the flow, as well as the joy of turning up to surprise a load of friends and photograph some of them as well - trying to balance pushing myself quality wise as well as opportunity wise, with remembering why I love doing this so much is vital and days like this are a perfect balance of both! Three different genres of music, three equally brilliant bands, another show I'd have loved to have watched without my camera just as much with it - especially because it was full of my favourite people! ✨WE. ARE. BACK✨ Forget optimal posting times, it being nice outside, or anything else becauseeeee.. Last night I photographed my first gig in THREE WEEKS, which may not sound like much of a break, but I think it's the most time I've had away from it in two, maybe even three, years, so even for me, there's no patience left here! A bit rusty already, and a venue I don't know as well as most, but between the lads in Andro, GW and BO this was (almost a complete) with me from day one matesfest for me, and throw in the guys in AR too and there wasn't much more I could have asked for for my first time back. Unsurprisingly the entire night went off, a massive shoutout to @charlie_throwdown for not only playing, but putting on such a great show as well through Unite Promotions. Three bands I've known since I started all pushing their best levels with insane live sets, new material quite different from when they started, with new lineups as well. The one constant being some of my favourite times with some of my favourite people. Taking a second to go backwards from SWHF, last Friday I got to see the main men for the first time since a breathtaking Cheltenham show and it didn't disappoint. Finally an occasion where I arrived in time for Scrandromedous (already a top night and there was still music AND photos to come!), and hanging with everyone a bit before the show. And when we got to the show, they did not disappoint either! The new songs add so much energy to the set, hearing the first work that's been written/unreleased with Elliot as a member of the band vs the back catalogue is so cool to see the effects it's having on the band overall. I always felt a bit apprehensive about Andro + lyrics/vocals, and I've repeatedly said how @ellioth_rwr shut down any worries I could have ever had the first time I heard him with the band. But these last five or so shows especially, and with the new material.
