JUMPING in the water with a GIANT Alligator Snapping Turtle! IRL DINOSAURS!!! One wrong hand placement and you’re losing some fingers… Do NOT imitate this one folks…
We caught this big bubba with all the proper permits, performed some routine biometrics then released the snapper back into the wild :)
THANK YOU to my amazing cast and crew, producers, and coordinators for making my first feature documentary directing experience one for the record books. It has been less than a year since I met @the.bearboyz learned of their amazing story of survival, attached the insanely talented @grizzlyguy and pitched to @brevity.films who quickly realized that making this film now was so important to the narrative of human wildlife conflict surrounding a-pex predators. Most of you know me as the face of Brave Wilderness but some know that my actual education and purest passion is in writing and directing. There is no question about it, I am living the dream and I could not do it without the unwavering commitment of my teammates and friends. This film is something special and we can’t wait to share it with the world. Its surreal to be back in Ohio and preparing for the next production. I miss camp, I miss the bears, I miss the thrill and overwhelming beauty of Alaska. I think we all did an exceptional job of living in the moments out there and the final product will reflect that. Proud of you all: @grizzlyguy@the.bearboyz@mario_aldecoa@thetrentunderwood@938beau@ryan_lavergne@wyatt_macd@riley.mcclaughry Big thanks to everyone else on the ground in Alaska, the 49th represents when it comes to making movies🔥🐻
After 24 hours of travel, zero sleep, 3 cookies, and 4 in-flight movies, I come home to find this in the creek. I’ll probably lose 1,000 IG followers cause the app hates that I like to still post photos instead of videos, but I don’t care cause I’TS SOOOO CUTE! This black-nosed doe, who has been hangin’ around the house lately had her fawn while I was away. I’m going to name it Alaska, the universe just keeps making me smile🥰
In no particular order my second half of Alaska was just as 🔥 as the first. Big thanks to @portugaltheman JG for joining me on a thrilling 24-hour survival challenge deep in the bear-swarmed bush. Episode drops later this year on @youtube . In what had been a tight race between Alaska and Japan for my favorite location on the planet, the 49th state has now officially taken hold of the title. Thanks for all the love AK - you gave us everything we could have hoped for and more. Consider the @gopro at the bottom of the Gibraltar River my gift for not killing me when that log flipped my raft and humbled me as a human lucky to adventure on this planet. I now understand what it means to be cold AF in AK 😂
#NationalCatfishDay this week certainly brought back some memories of this absolute RIVER MONSTER of a fish in Tennessee. These beasts are insanely powerful and noodling for them is no small task... Check out the full episode on the @bravewilderness YouTube channel!
The bone hound strikes again - sea otter skull marks my first mustelid ever found in Alaska. And in other TBK news, epic day in the wild with our Fellowship of the Bear. Boy it’s fun being back behind the camera!
Day 3 Part 1 = more magic moments. This film is unquestionably the hardest production I have been on in a long time but every single moment has been worth it. The finished product is truly going to be something special, can’t wait to share this journey with the @bravewilderness universe!
