Last night, the global creative community came together to celebrate extraordinary achievements in architecture, interior design, curation, journalism, photography and digital art - alongside the presentation of Le Prix Charlotte Perriand to acclaimed architect Frida Escobedo and the presentation of the Andrée Putman Lifetime Achievement Award to Gaetano Pesce.
Nominees from 22 countries in 14 categories gathered at the Shangri-La in Paris for a black-tie ceremony, followed by an after party in the historic Roland Bonaparte Salon.

The Andrée Putman Lifetime Achievement Award was founded to celebrate a design icon that has made a profound impact on the world of art, architecture and design.
This year’s recipient is a master of crafting joy, using pliable materials to evoke humor and the bright side of the human experience. He is led by his guiding principle that modernism is less a style than a method for interpreting the present, and hinting at the future in which individuality is preserved and celebrated.
Today his work is featured in the permanent collections of over 30 of the most significant museums around the world including MoMa and the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York, Vitra Museum in Germany, Victoria and Albert Museum in London and the Pompidou Center and Louvre here in Paris.
He said in a recent interview, “I use materials that are part of my time, not materials that are part of the past. I try never to look to the past because the future is better than the past. The past is a rigid moment, the future is elastic, open to everything.”
We are beyond honored this evening, in the presence of his family and dear friends, to present the 2024 Andrée Putman Lifetime Achievement award to Gaetano Pesce.

The Andrée Putman Lifetime Achievement Award, presented by the @createurs_design_awards , was the last honor bestowed upon Gaetano Pesce (1939-2024). As we mourn his loss, we extend our heartfelt condolences to his family and friends. Today, while we grieve, we also celebrate the remarkable legacy and vibrant spirit he leaves behind. His pioneering work has indelibly shaped the design world, and his influence will continue to inspire for generations to come.
