Time to reveal THAT Audition!
*ROMEO & JULIET* —
Directed by Lydia Medeiros
This is a faithful production of the original Shakespearean play woven together with Queen music, dancing, and lots of sword fighting in our own bespoke script and vision.
Please prepare one Shakespeare monologue, and one Queen song to sing for the audition.
Auditions will be held at The Hive JLT from 3-6PM on Saturday and Sunday 28 and 29 January.
Callbacks TBD
Rehearsals weeknights 8-11 and Saturday mornings.
Performance end of May.
Cross Bronx Crew is an award-winning theater group that loves the art of acting, making good theater, and having fun while we do it. And we really love Shakespeare. We are looking for people who love to play, explore, and create just as much as we do. So Brush up your Shakespeare and come join us for our next ride. It’s gonna be a wild one.

MEET THE CREW:
OMID HONARI, Executive Producer, holds a Bachelor in Media Production, BA (Honours) in Communications & Media & a Masters of Creative Industries. He is General Manager (Europe, Middle East & Africa) & Director of Global Sponsor Relations at Navitas.
He has produced documentaries and drama, and proudly was most recently Executive Producer of the Cross Bronx Crew’s 2022 hit, Macbeth.
His expertise draws upon sectors including international education and the media / arts. Omid speaks frequently at conference, seminars and with the media on topics ranging from media, international education, edtech, and future directions of business and economy. He was the 2019 recipient of the Forbes Middle East’s Education Award for Excellence & the 2022 Education 2.0 Outstanding Leadership Award. Additionally, he is a Knight of the Order of Parte Guelfa.
His family tree traces back to generations of artists, educators, poets laureate and statesmen.
MEET THE CREW:
Mahmoud Basyoni has been an actor for 13 years between theatre and movies. Started in college theatre then local theatre and then to independent movies. He has been acting, writing and directing in both. He performed in both Arabic and English plays, in Egypt and Dubai. Winner of best script in short and sweet 2020. Starred and co-wrote in "Ashraa short film" that got selected in 10 international film festivals and won best concept in
PEBIFF 2020. Among others, set design is one of his many passions. Winner of best set design, dubai 2021 and 2022. Art director in "slingshot movie" that got selected in 3 international film festivals in 2016. @mahmoud_basyoni

CRAIG ARNOLDS went to Art School at the age of 5, where he studied Dance, Drama and Singing. He is an award-winning dancer and choreographer. He has been a part of several renowned dance companies, touring the world with musical theatre productions. He currently works as a Dance Coach and Choreographer at Studio Republik. @craigarnolds_official
MEET THE CREW:
GENETTE HARRISON is a UK trained actress living in Dubai, who has participated in many performance types in the UAE including theatre, emceeing, commercial, and film. She has won two awards for Best Actress in Dubai - for her role as Evelyn in The Shape of Things, and her role in a short film called Elpida’s World. Other notable local roles include Scarecrow from Woman and Scarecrow, Helena from A Midsummer Night’s Dream, and the female characters in Two. Notable UK roles include Alexandria from Widows, Toinette from The Hypochondriac, Prospero (female) from The Tempest, and May from Accrington Pals.
Genette studied her BA Acting at Blackpool School of Arts, then went on to qualify as a higher education lecturer, and has experience in teaching acting to degree level, with Comedy, Modern Performance Techniques, Avant-Garde & Experimental Theatre, and Commercial Theatre Performance as her areas of specialism. During her time as a lecturer in Blackpool, Genette directed a number of performances, including Consensual, Blue Stockings, and Angels in America, which she directed as part of her Practice as Research dissertation element for her MA in Performance Making.
Genette previously worked for the Ministry of Education (MoE) as a Theatre Curriculum Specialist, where she designed and implemented a bespoke 4-year theatre/drama curriculum for public schools across the UAE. She currently is a faculty member of Sharjah Performing Arts Academy, the only performing arts conservatoire of its kind in the Middle East.
Genette has had some time away from the UAE performance scene as she has very recently given birth to a baby girl, making her a proud mother of three, however she is getting ready to step back into the scene, and couldn’t be more excited! @genetteharrison
MEET THE CREW:
MATTHEW T CORBETT trained at East 15 Acting School, UK. Matthew has been a working actor in many forms of theatre, screen work and entertainment events which has taken him around Europe and over to Asia.
Theatre credits include:
Camillo, The winters tale directed by Ben Crystal. Pleaseblossom in A midsummers night dream. Yasha in The Cherry Orchard. Jim in The Glass menagerie. Matthew mad his debut at the The Junction playing Richard Hannay in The 39 Steps. Matthew has spent contracts playing a variety of roles and shows at Motiongate Dubai and Universal Studios Singapore which included Hiccup from How to train your dragon and Charlie Chaplin.
Matthew is also a performing Arts lecturer at Raindance film school Dubai.
