Please join us @goldtowntheater for an Indigenous juried film festival by @shinstitute 6pm! Come celebrate like we did last weekend when our short film got an Emmy nomination! That moment you see your art come to life… from the computer screen to full size! The sky is the limit! . I have high hopes that this project will encourage people to embrace Indigenous culture and values. We have much to learn about this planet and it’s inhabitants including ourselves. . @alaskaair Gunalchéesh Marilyn Romano for working with me to share the salmon story!!

Gunalchéesh Sheet’ka for allowing us to renovate & create this beautiful court. A couple years ago I reached out to @project_backboard to introduce myself and my hopes to one day be an artist for one of their courts, and their first court in Alaska…because basketball is significant to our people & our lives. Thank you to @5starbasketball for your vision & allowing me to choose its home. I love this project, I love this team, I love this place we call Sheet’ka / Sitka 🤍 Let’s do it again!

10 years ago I finished college and came up with a business plan to start an art design gift shop downtown Juneau. This was without knowing that brother @ricoworl had created a similar business plan. One day we decided to show off “this really great idea” to each other, and who would have known that this would be the beginning of @trickstercompany !! Our business has grown thru so many great adventures from a painted skateboard, a kickstarter project, a brick and mortar shop, a covid pandemic, a fashion show, a popup, and an ever evolving process in the studio and online! . Juneau please join us for Celebration @alaskarobotics for a popup and BIG Party!! 🎉 . Pop-up Shop @ AK Robotics June 5-8th (10am - 8pm) . 10 Year BIG Party! June 6th (4:30pm - 8pm) . First Friday Party with ÁAK’W ROCK &  Black & White Raven Co. (4:30pm - 8pm) . All happening at Alaska Robotics! See you there!

How can one acknowledge how beautiful this Dena’ina land is! 🎨 here are some process clips of the 120-foot mural at G Street and 7th Avenue in downtown Anchorage. We used rollers, brushes strapped to the end of a broom stick, spray cans and guns, charcoal, and @jimmy_riordan_rr thank you for the projector bus!! So cool! @anchoragemuseum @seedlabanchorage @alaskamuralproject @alaskapacific @downtownanchorage @johnosgood Thank you for your help ✨

“Northern Boarders” Featured Artist: Crystal Worl Crystal Kaakeeyáa Rose Demientieff Worl is Athabascan, Filipino, and Tlingit from Raven moiety, Sockeye Clan, from the Raven House. She is Deg Hit’an Athabascan from Fairbanks Alaska. Crystal is a talented multidisciplinary artist based in Juneau, Alaska. She draws inspiration from her cultural roots and the natural world around her. Worl’s artwork is diverse, ranging from Tlingit Northwest Coast design to contemporary multimedia pieces. Her work often explores themes of identity, connection to land, and the interplay between traditional and modern ways of life. In addition to creating art, Worl is also an advocate for Indigenous rights and works to promote cultural awareness and understanding through her art. Her work has been exhibited in galleries and museums around the world and she continues to be a prominent voice in the Indigenous art community. Today Crystal lives in Juneau, Alaska, working as a co-owner and co-designer of Trickster Company with her brother Rico Worl. Trickster Company promotes innovative indigenous design focused on the Northwest Coast art and exploration of themes and issues in Native culture. I like to stay in tune with skateboard trends and the rise of new skate parks and installations in Alaska. I aspire to create art installations that can be skate on, there is a connection to the shapes in my art and the way it can be integrated into the movement of skating. Skating is huge and growing in Native America because it is interactive with the land, physical activity that is healthy, and it is accessible for both rural and urban communities. I take great pride in seeing all people skating/boarding and shredding up boards that have my artwork. There is a story on each board and it feels like it comes to life when I see someone riding the boards! The snowboard is a part of the Xâat Kusteeyí (salmon way of life) collection that I designed to remind us of our responsibilities to the land and how it affects the salmon. There is much to learn from the salmon and taking care of the mountains and waterways will ensure a return of the salmon for future generations. 📸 @wilderphoto
