I'm so proud of these kiddos for accepting the challenge of using their voice to speak about their very personal experiences. Project elevate invited us to create an interactive course for youth who are confronted with the challenges of homelessness or displacement in one form or another. And what a statement they have made.
Please watch this video, their photography speaks about, homelessness in schools, language barriers, feeling misunderstood, & isolated among many things. These will be posted in the North Lexington Public library for the public next Friday at their Grand Opening of their Art Exhibit to share their voice through photography so that people who make laws that affect them directly can see through their eyes what they are experiencing.
They are not too young to understand that art can be an avenue of processing emotions👏❤️ If you don't know what The McKinney-Vento assistance act is, please do a quick Google search.

For some reason this song reminded me of my Dad today. I asked him who I remind him of in his immediate family, he said his grandmother, because "she'd be hugging you with one arm and holding a gun in the other."
That's me, only today holsters are for my cameras. 😂

Before Dad passed I realized I'll never stop taking photos so I might as well do it for a living. After he passed I realized we could never have enough time.. yet the photos take me back in time. So....now I have to remind EVERYBODY 😂

Since first starting in 2010 the concept of what it means to me is still ever changing.
Today, I want to change the meaning of documenting history for YOU. History isn't only in the books, you are living it! Don't let years pass before you decide to capture this season of your life, OR the seasons of those you love. Gift a session to someone you love.
