This Saturday 6 July at 6:22am local time, I’ll be starting my ride to Uluru on this year’s @racetotherock course. Race to the Rock 2024 is a little different from previous editions: It starts in a small town (Derby, WA) instead of a big city; The distances between reliable resupply points is vast (about 600km!)- is this the most remote off-road bikepacking race in the world?? It starts on the first Saturday in July because it would be way too hot to run it in September; The temperature will range from sub 0 to 30+. My partner for this solo, unsupported mission is my @curvecycling GMX+ “Xena2”. A fresh approach to my preparations (overthinking + under training) & in lots of ways I’ve gone back in time when it comes to my packing list; it’s not dissimilar to my pack list from RTTR 2020! I have fork bags AND a way bigger seat post bag than usual to make sure that I have room to carry big loads of gluten free fuel & bucket loads of water. In typical April style, I will also have back ups for my back ups when it comes to tools & electronics. I want to be able to enjoy the outback experience without worrying that I’m going to run out of anything that I need for an enjoyable journey. This is a holiday after all. If you’re a fan of bike shows you may have seen our immaculate titanium creations in Melbourne this past weekend. The @made.bike show was only a few kilometres from our Australian Adventure Dojo. We were proud to introduce our much loved Uprock model, Version 2. This update features modern XC geometry, split seat stay for belt drive systems, sliding drop outs to cater to a wide range of drive systems, and much more. These Uprocks will be available this July! We’ve been loading bikes into vans recently! Our team of Liege, April, and Jesse are in Brisbane this week hosting demo days @epic_cycles before the Gravel & Flannel event by @gravel_cartel this weekend! Jimmy, Gus, and Ryan have been touring the UK for almost three weeks. Spending time with our dealers, there was a campout with @girocycles and we spent some quality time in the workshop with Phil from @thegiroworkshop assembling our @bespoked.cc show bikes. We rode over to @thewoodscyclery for a huge weekend of demo rides, camping in the New Forest, and loads of good chats with the team! We then introduced the Titanosaur to @conordunne1 and @globalcyclingnetwork in Bath! Then it was up to @epiccyclesuk for a catch up and coffee with the lovely team in Ludlow, seeing their beautiful new showroom! One of the most rewarding parts of our work is spending time with our dealers who share the same passion for riding bikes. The technical expertise they share with our team in assembling bikes, understanding the finer points of what makes each of our platforms unique, and finding the right adventure machine for their community. We’ve had Jimmy our technical lead sharing knowledge with mechanics here in the UK, whilst our events team share the stories and learnings from our adventures all over the world! Such a special experience! Thanks for having us visit!

The AIR Belgie (2024 Bike Show Season) The AIR Belgie is our high-end road bike with hybrid titanium / carbon construction. Our current prototype has seen further development, now with internal routing. This is achieved with a standard 42/52 mm headset using the Columbus Trittico system. Most internally routed metal bikes make use of a larger top headset bearing which allow brake hoses and cables to fit between the steerer and top headset bearings. The cleverly shaped steerer on the Columbus Trittico fork allows a more elegant finish with a smaller top headset cup. While it’s a subtle it results in a more refined internal routing execution. The AIR Belgie has a conventional welded headtube constructed with precision CNC machining. This distinguishes it from the AIR Belgie 3D which has a fully 3D printed top tube.
