Here is it, simple but powerful;
“I love you, you are safe.”
Because feeling safe in the body family, it’s a thing…
For a long time I didn’t feel safe in my body, and I spent a lot of time in therapy and through my healing journey just working on anchoring safety into my body, rewriting this aspect of myself.
Our capacity of what we are able to hold in our lives is directly equatable to how safe we feel in our nervous system and our body, and many times we try to anchor safety first externally by getting all of our ducks in a row, while we neglect how we feel inside.
This is normal and to be expected in a fast paced world where we have learned that we need to keep moving quickly to survive and thrive, but it starts within.
It doesn’t have to be hard either. You don’t have to pay a bunch of money and wait to feel safe in your body until you can hire support, while that can be a valuable resource.
It starts with just holding yourself. I find that the single phrase that the deepest parts of me need to hear in just about any situation that I feel unsafe or our of control is this:
“I love you, you are safe.”
There is no analyzation needed, no picking myself apart to find what’s wrong with me, just holding myself with love and reminding the deepest parts of me that they are loved and safe.
From here, your body can relax. Your creative channel can open. The magic that is deep within you now has a way to move through your body and enter into the world.
Next time you feel scared, worried, lost, depressed, etc, try this:
Close your eyes, hug and hold yourself, and whisper directly into those feelings “I love you , you are safe.” Do this as many times as you need every day to start to feel your body relax and your soul come online.
Save this for a rainy day when you know you may need this reminder ❤️
