Our final production grant honoree, Reframe!🎉 Reframe is a video work that forces visibility for female identifying performers over 40 from across the county. Synopsis: I can feel myself evaporating. Obscured by other’s intentions for control. Shrugged off. My voice discreetly vaporized from civil discussions about what exactly constitutes my rights. What happens when we strip away the performance of politics, where is the damage, what is the aftermath? Reframe, is a video work that forces visibility of female identifying performers over 40. It is an exploration in forced perspective for the camera. I strip away lush landscape, costume, lighting, and film in extreme close up in black and white. Reframe, is a literal, see me as I am, right now. Director/Producer: Stephanie Liapis @stephanieliapis

🎉We're thrilled to announce that La Supersticion Del Huevo is one of our Production Grant Honorees! We're proud to support it. Read below for more on this incredible work. A mother taps into the spirit world as she performs an egg-cleansing ritual on her child. The profound love of a mother takes center stage as she employs age-old superstitions to protect her child. In the ritual of rubbing an egg on her child's body, she taps into the spirit world, summoning a mystical dancer who becomes the embodiment of the egg. The more the mother cleans the child, the more the dancer absorbs the negative energies, transforming her performance into a chaotic dance piece. Once completed, the mother departs and hurls the egg into the wilderness. The egg shatters, symbolizing the expulsion of negative energy from the human and spirit world. 🍾🥳Congratulations to the Full Production Grant honoree, Veda in Paradise!! VEDA IN PARADISE is a story about a fiery young dancer who fights to stand out in a world that wants her to blend in. Abandoned by her mother at a young age, Veda turns to dance as a way to escape harsh realities. The film opens with Veda learning a new burlesque routine– but it’s not the slow striptease of Dita Von Teese. Instead, Carolina Cerisola, our burlesque choreographer, combines fun, bawdy gestures with skillful and rigorous movement inspired by the incredible Cyd Charisse. Over the course of the film, the dance morphs into something altogether different as Veda discovers her own specific expression. Choreographer Genna Moroni uses techniques from GAGA and modern dance to capture Veda's transformation. Director: Christina Burchard @christinaburchard Producer: Anna Kathleen @_anna_kathleen_ Choreographer: Genna Moroni and Carolina Cerisola @minimoroni @carolinacerisola Stay tuned for upcoming announcements on the two other production grant honorees. 👀
