I was honored to be a guest speaker at this year’s @nwfilmforum Gala on behalf of the Action! Narrative Apprenticeship program. The program offers one on one training for the film crew position of your choice- ie location sound.
I participated in the program two years ago, and it laid down the groundwork I needed to move up and out of the entry level production assistant role I started in. I enjoy working in the audio department on set, and this summer I’ll be on my 4th feature project!

When I was reviewing my photos from this show, I noticed the pole sometimes appeared to be crooked even though the floor was level. I eventually figured out that the photos were fine, the pole itself was bowing the same way my boom pole does when it’s fully extended. On that note, I would love to see someone create a sexy boom operator act someday!

I did a shoot with @theshanghaipearl at this big art installation by @saraegj back in March. We moved gingerly through the space, careful not to break anything. The building was mostly empty, save for us and the person who let us in. It was very quiet in the space, a far cry from being packed in a cheering audience at a show. This shoot felt special, and I’m glad I got to share the experience with Shanghai.
