“Tunainuana”
Very excited that a film I shot in Tanzania last year will premiere at
@mountainfilm festival in Colorado next week. Big shout out to my crew and
@cameronmarygold for the wonderful color.
The film is a mix of documentary scenes and narrative re-enactments based on Lydia Wilbard’s life. Her incredibly inspiring story below, in director
@lindsaylaurenne ’s words:

In Tanzania, young Lydia Wilbard’s world crumbled when her mother died. Undeterred, she embarked on a journey to become a nurse, defying all the odds. Today, as
@camfed Executive Director, Lydia empowers countless other young women to realize their dreams. Lydia’s story illuminates the boundless possibilities for a better world when women come together. A world with more of Lydia’s radiance is the world I want to live in.
CAMFED is already screening the film across communities in Tanzania, including for International Women’s Day. One CAMFED Association member, Biera, a Learner Guide at a secondary school said, ‘’This film is like a wake up call for me to go back to school - specifically college. All my life I have wanted to be a fashion designer. I have ignored this for a long time, but this time I feel it is possible to make my dream a reality.’’
