6•24•24 BROADWAY PERFORMANCE DEBUT!! A night that I will truly remember for the rest of my life. I was saying bye to my parents as I got the call that I was going to be on, and so I quickly changed their flights so that we could share this moment together. Divine timing. • To my parents: Thank you for all of the sacrifices you have both made for me to get to where I am today. All of the dance classes, all of the rejections, the hard times, the life lessons - I feel like it all led to this moment. I love you both so much; thank you for everything. • Thank you to all of the people who showed up last night and to all those who sent the sweetest messages - I was genuinely SHOCKED and overwhelmed by the love from everyone from different parts of my life coming together. I celebrate with all of you!!! • Thank you to Justin, Jackie, this incredible cast, musicians, and vocalists for holding me with such grace, to my fellow understudies whom I could not do it without, and to the ICONIC dressers, crew, team dance, and creatives who made all of the magic happen backstage. What a dream to do this with all of you. • Thank you to my mentors for teaching me everything I know. Patience, hard work, consistency, trust, and honoring the process all lead to progress in our individual journeys. Finding this old video of me doing this same dance choreographed by @joshuabergasse was a lovely reminder that we all start somewhere, and that it’s not about the end goal, or defining our success based off of jobs in the industry, but rather about the simple pleasure of being able to do what we love every single day. I can’t wait to celebrate my progress 10 years from now! Had a fun time at our opening gala for @illinoiseonstage last week. I can’t even begin to express how grateful and how honored I am to be working on this show with these incredible creatives. It’s my first time being an understudy (let alone covering 5 tracks) and being an assistant dance captain and #fallcaptain (and first time on Broadway!!), and what a beautiful challenge and exciting journey it has been so far!! I look forward to being at the theatre every single show day to learn, to grow, to absorb, and most importantly to celebrate each other.
