Let’s give a huge birthday shout out to @evangelineelston ! Not only is she a very dear friend, but she is a tireless promoter of music and artists and is a huge reason I stay excited about writing songs and finding places to play them. She’s always dishing me and others opportunities to play on cool stages for cool crowds and helps me with promotional stuff. She is a fine photographer, artist and event organizer, among many other talents. Her job can be brutally thankless and I am so grateful for her fortitude and support. I love you, Vange and look forward to many more collaborations making shit up for the sake of music!

Cranked out the “Tahoe Triple Crown” day hike yesterday. It’s a dandy: 12 miles, 3 peaks, 4000 ft. Elevation gain. Freel, Job’s Sister and Job’s Peak. My legs somehow didn’t fall off. 💯 percent recommend!
I get the pleasure of opening the show for @lamontlandersofficial this Saturday in the legendary Red Room at @crystalbayclub ! Lamont is a soulful singer and guitarist from Alabama and his stylings are influenced by greats like Stevie Wonder, Ray Charles and Sly and the Family Stone. Looking forward to this one! Another lovely traipse in the high sierra. My first time to the summit of Mount Rose. There is a good amount of snow to navigate, but it just adds to the fun.
What I love most is the meditative state you achieve when you have a mission to reach a summit and it’s 2200 feet of verticle to get there. You can’t be in a hurry. Pace yourself. Breathe. I count my blessing every day I get to do this epic shit! 🤘🏻
