It was crazy how patient you were. ❤️ This was a bucket list shoot for me. I’ve always looked forward to the day I would get to take this photo. I still can’t believe how magic this woman is. I made this quick video out of love and got a lot of love back for it. Thanks to everyone who helped me out that day. Y’all are amazing. Thanks to every that supports and helps me out too. My Panther Comrade @yemayas_inclinations gave me an opportunity to capture some time with her while helping heal a really dope community member. I love what we do as people that overcome brutal circumstances. I love my people and the work they do for the people. Protests on college and university campuses in support of Palestinians have been sweeping the nation, with student protestors calling for an end to the Israeli and American sponsored genocide in Gaza. Student protestors at Columbia University recently set up an encampment, refusing to leave until the school divests from the genocidal Israeli regime. When students there were met with violent suppression from police, many students at other schools joined in to create solidarity encampments on their own campuses.
USC has been in hot water since the administration canceled valedictorian Asna Tabassum’s upcoming graduation speech. Tabassum has publicly supported Palestine, and her speech was canceled citing “safety concerns”.
USC campus protests and encampments have led to the arrest of over 90 people since Wednesday, April 24. In response to Wednesday’s actions, the administration canceled the May 10 main commencement altogether.
Students continue to urge the institution to divest from Israel despite the arrests and graduation cancellation, as the war on Gaza has raged for over 200 days.
