Dancer @tituslandegger and his mom Ali travelled to Cuba in March because Titus was an invited by The Cuban National Ballet School and @acostadanza_ 🩰 Before they left ✈️ they asked us for donations to bring with them for the ballet dancers. We sent them on their way with 📦 and 📦 of new leotards from @trienawear.mbb . We were happy 😊 to be able to donate because we were told that there aren’t any dance stores in Cuba and the dancers don’t have the financial resources to order and purchase dancewear. When a parent of a dancer at one of our long-time partners, Manhattan Ballet School, @manhattanballetschool reached out to us looking for young dancers to participate in their annual Nutcracker Suite 🩰 we immediately thought of the wonderful program at @balletandbeyondnyc . We connected the director of MBS, Jennifer Groenke, to Michelle Cave, chair and director of #BalletAndBeyond and after several weekend rehearsals the Ballet & Beyond dancers performed in two beautiful shows at The Kaye Playhouse @huntercollege . MBS was founded forty years ago by Elfriede Merman with the mission to incorporate traditional ballet technique with music, drama, coaching and performance opportunities. Ballet & Beyond’s mission is to change the lives of New York City kids who have a passion for dance. They are devoted to giving kids a safe and affordable way of exploring the joy of learning classical ballet at a high level, and they are equally committed to helping them develop the self-expression, confidence, and discipline that will allow them to succeed in the world beyond ballet.
