When it comes to fashion and sustainability, it can be confusing to know what actions we should be taking and what the right thing to do is. While the optimal solution would be for none of us to buy any clothing at all, that might be slightly unrealistic! Instead, we advise investing in your staple wardrobe pieces that you know you’ll wear time and time again, and using rental for those more seasonal and one off pieces.
Next time you’re deciding whether to buy or rent an item, consider asking yourself the following questions:
1. How many wears will I get out of this?
2. Is this a trend/will it stand the test of time?
3. Is this a seasonal piece that I will wear a couple of times a year or will I wear it all year round?
4. Do this really deserve a space in my wardrobe?
5. Is this worth the price point, or could I rent it for a fraction of the price?
Think of it this way:
* Wardrobe 1: Your staple, capsule pieces
* Wardrobe 2: The rest (a.k.a Drobey!)
