Theatrical, multi-feature performance by skilled musicians with amazing way of controlling and leading the crowd with tons of props and interactive elements at @1867bar was definitely a highlight of my week! And on top of that you have to realize that this band is a freaking legend formed in 1981! Death To All at Milwaukee Metal Fest, May 18 2024, Milwaukee, WI, @centurymediarecords stage I was extremely excited to see @deathtoallofficial ever since I heard they are performing this year. Death's "Live in L.A." was the first death metal album I have ever heard (and owned). I even had the edition with an insert calling to support Chuck (RIP). I started listening to Death in the reverse order of their discography - starting with The Sound of Perseverance and ending up on the Scream Bloody Gore. As a teenage metal head I also used to attend Dec 13 Chuck tribute concerts in #wroclaw organized by the local metal community at a bar called "Rocker". When I learned that during @mkemetalfest one will have a chance to see two sets - both of the aforementioned albums in their entirety I just had to see it! I was extremely excited to see Max Phelps on stage and I have to say... It was amazing! I can only imagine how difficult it must be to live up to the fan expectations and I have to say I am amazed. All the fans I talked to expressed how grateful they were that we get to see Chuck's legacy in the closest form to the original band members - including Gene Hoglan, Steve DiGiorgio and Bobby Koelble! From This Day Forward at Aby's, June 21 2024, Rapid City, SD, @fourwindsfest I happened to travel with @fromthisdayforwardband to Rapid City to capture their performance during the Four Winds Music and Art Festival and it was AWESOME! First of all, the audience was not ready for the emo-metalcore blast but warmed up to it very quickly and by the end of the set moshed like nobody's business. It was fun to spend some time with the band and observe what a tour-like dynamic feels like - we even went to the mall! (if you know - you know). Hoods (Sacramento) at 1867, June 21 2024, Lincoln, NE It was my second time seeing and shooting @hoodsofficial - this time at @1867bar . It was a an AWESOME hardcore show with great crowd participation and just amazing stage presence with a bit of a nostalgic tone (at least for me) since we all remembered the show last year at The Swamp (RIP). I got the opportunity to talk to Mikey and give him my print from last year and it was just fantastic to see his reaction - he even recreated the shot for the photo - Thanks! We even got a chance to hang a little bit after the show! Thanks for an AWESOME show and see you next time!

HIRS Collective at 1867, June 18 2024, Lincoln, NE I had no idea what to expect from @hirs666 - other than what I got to see in the shorts and stories from the night before and boi oh boi it was WILD! They brought a wall of sound and went to town with the most energetic show you can imagine using clips from pop songs (yes, "let's go girls!" made the cut) combined with just pure insanity. There was a guest vocal performance during one of the songs and after the show the fan who sang was standing in line to buy some merch. After picking his favorite piece the singer told him "thanks for the vocals, and you can have the shirt - you're part of the collective, you get the shirt" (or something along those lines, please forgive quote inaccuracy) which was AMAZING. Throughout the show the singer was extremely grateful for the warm reception by the audience and we even got an encore at the end! Since they were extremely active and wild on stage, I decided to play a little bit with shutter dragging - hope you don't mind. Southpaw FLHC at 1867, June 18 2024, Lincoln, NE It was my first time seeing and shooting @southpaw.flhc and I have to say they go HARD. If you missed it - you missed OUT. They rolled out with all the gear packed into road cases with tall, gigantic cabs and amps and filled the room with a massive punch.
