We're thrilled that BEAT (Building Equality in Architecture Toronto) has been recognized with the Royal Architectural Institute of Canada (RAIC) Advocate for Architecture award for 2024! BEAT is a volunteer-led organization whose mandate is to empower women in the design community to improve and enrich the practice of architecture, the quality of the built environment, and ultimately, the human experience. Over the last 9 years, BEAT has developed and programmed more than 110 events, including leadership seminars, forums, talks, mixes, workshops, and a wide range of special events. Last week BEAT was recognized at the award ceremony in Vancouver, with Heather Dubbeldam, Maya Mahgoub-Desai, Jennifer Esposito, Elsa Lam, and Valerie Gow on stage to receive the award on behalf of the group. Thank you to the
