Thank you to the @nypl The New York Public Library branch of Seward Park Library @sewardparknypl for hosting me last week for a Five Stories event with 50 students from two of our local public schools. After an interactive book reading, we did a craft activity where each student had a building and street to illustrate who they lived with, a local store, pets, etc. One student created a family timeline, including her mother’s migration from the Dominican Republic. The Seward Park Library is where I got my first library card, did my homework, and took out stacks of books at a time. Thank you to the librarians and teachers for their invaluable work fostering curiosity and creativity. #NoCutsToLibraries #jlgselection #juniorlibraryguild
