The U.S. Senior Open starts Thursday at Newport Country Club. Spectators can check out the practice rounds Wednesday and there are tickets available for all four days of play this week. Had the chance to walk the course today and it is ready to put up a fight. Should be a fun one this week - don’t miss it.

The final week of the season ended with some of the best games of the year. Taking photos for big games is always the most fun and the action almost doesn’t matter - because the emotional reaction does. These are my favorite shots I took from the games I covered to wrap up the last week of the spring season.

No Days Off SZN rolled into June, with championship hopes dashed and dreams realized. I was all around the state, trying to work as hard as the kids were on the field. Here’s my favorite shots I took from the games I went to that first week of the month.

The last three weeks are a blur. No Days Off SZN is officially over, but the memories remain. Took a lot of photos during playoffs, and these are some of my favorites from the start of the playoffs in the final week of May.

The quest is over. After helping the Vikings beat West Warwick for the D-Ill title Monday, Carter talked about the win, why their confidence never swayed, why he was the right guy to be up in a big moment and why there was no competition in the final pole run of the season. What a way to end things. After pitching the Vikings past West Warwick to win the D-III title, Donahue talked about being a champ, how Rogers remained confident during tough times, how locked in he was for the final inning and why running poles one last time was OK by him. This Miner found gold. After helping Westerly win Game 2 to win the D2 baseball title, Miner talked about being a champ, playing with confidence all afternoon and what it’s like getting gang tackled when the last out is recorded. They’re unapologetically here. After beating Cranston West to win the state title, Silva talked about the team’s confidence this season, why the start was what they were looking for, why nerves came into play for the first time and sort of promised me the one thing I need to see next spring but maybe not.
