to know me is to know that I brag about my dad all the time. I never miss out on an opportunity to reflect on what it’s like to feel like a lottery-winner at birth. My dad could teach a masterclass on unconditional love (as shown in the painting that he made for me when I was born, which says “I love you” in every language he could fit on it), curiosity, verbosity, humor, sarcasm, passion, verve, autodidactism, vocabulary, and even poetry (his daily texts are more articulate than most people will ever be in their lifetime). happy Father’s Day to the fathers who have inoculated us against anything or anyone that tries to beat us down - simply via their abundant love. it’s like a permanent cushion that prevents even the hardest blows from breaking us.
