What a dream come true! To say we have created a look for the Met Gala of Drag — and on none other than the respected icon and legend herself, mother Sasha Colby!
Thankyou to Sasha and @prestonmakeup for allowing us a moment like this to be able create without limitations — except time 😅. You asked for a larger than life garment that referenced iconic works of some of the greatest names in fashion and trusted in our talents to bring this to life. We added some references to iconic video game characters as well to give that fantasy vibe. It was such a joy to work with Sasha and Preston: having clear ideas and concepts for what was wanted and allowing for creative expression and being open to the creation process. It was wild to see the evolution of what was sketched transform into the final product.
Shontelle and I started on this look two days after Shontelle’s National EOY step down. 😴No time for rest lol! We are very thankful for Sasha being gracious enough to wait for Shontelle’s step down to be over before we started her project. With that being said two days later we set on a trip to chicago to secure fabrics two weeks later, 20 yards of brocade, a corset, 120 yards of tulle, 80 yards of lame and endless hours stoning later we had completed one of the biggest projects to date.

I made my leotard thong cut corsets because I had not see anything out there yet that compressed just from the waist up that allowed for free range of motion from for the hips and now loooookkk ! I was heavily inspired by video game characters and the iconic playboy bunny suits and crafted my own full on tight-lacing leotard corset.
