Just sorting Doctor Who classic DVDs.
Tom Baker’s pile just pips Jon Pertwee’s to the post!! I think my brother has all the available classic DVDs so his collection beats mine.
Although Tom Baker and Peter Davison were “my” doctors growing up, when we lived in Sydney in the 1980’s,
@abcaustralia showed Doctor Who every weekday at 6 or so, so I’m well acquainted with the dandy Doctor, Jon Pertwee and love him too. Especially his cloaks and modes of transport - Bessie the vintage car, the hovercraft, etc.
When I read his biography, “Moon Boots and Dinner Suits”, he mentioned that because he loved gadgets like this, they incorporated it into the show.
The 20th anniversary episodes of “The Five Doctors” were taped off the telly and amongst my watched videos around that time. I love the mash up of four of the original doctors (with Richard Hurndall playing William Hartnell’s original Doctor), with his granddaughter Susan, the Brigadier and Patrick Troughton, Jon Pertwee and Sarah Jane, K9, Peter Davison with Tegan and Turlough, plus guest appearances from Jamie and Zoe, Liz and Captain Yates, the Master, and the Cybermen, Daleks, the Yeti, etc.
We also had the Doctor Who board game, which I’m pretty sure my brother still has, which we played a lot!
Planning to pop on some Jon Pertwee adventures this week.
