Bridal makeup artist tips I always use when working on a bride for her special day 💐
🤍if a bride requests dewy makeup, still use mattifying products. After pictures and the ceremony, the natural oils will come through the makeup and, as the makeup artist, it’s important to make sure the makeup will last all night. Using mattifying products will ensure the natural oils won’t overtake all that hard work of application! Strategically apply highlighting products to the desired areas like top of the cheeks and nose will still allow that glowing look in photos
🤍when applying eyebrow products, make sure you’re going in with a light hand! Eyebrows are usually the one place that, when applied too harshly, will completely overtake the face.
🤍take a step back! Whenever you’re doing your bridal makeup, it’s important to step back and look at the face at a distance. When you’re only looking up close, features get lost and it’s easy to apply things that look symmetrical but at a distance appear off
🤍never use sunscreen!! I know this is controversial, but most sunscreens create a flashback. And no bride wants to have their face be a different color in their photos. Sunscreens also can mix with the base of the other face products and create pilling, movement, and breakage. For the wedding day, just skip this step
🤍always use a lip liner over the entire lip area. Lipliners are usually much better at staying in place. This helps ensure that after kissing and sipping the lips will still have some pigment 💋
