Shakespeare by the Sea comes to Long Beach this weekend with Cardenio, an adaptation of a “lost” play, at the Recreation Park Bandshell starting at 8PM.

For the first time in its 27-year history, Shakespeare by the Sea is opening its season in Long Beach, choosing the Recreation Park Bandshell to kick off this year’s tour.
The 2024 season will feature 25 free performances of “Cardenio: Double Falsehood” (12) and “Henry IV” (13) in 16 cities. The troupe has two soft opening shows of “Cardenio” at the Bandshell tonight (June 20) and tomorrow at 8 p.m., with the big opening event — Martinelli’s toast included — taking place Saturday at 8 p.m.

Over the weekend, we had some incredible performances brought to you by the youth of Long Beach. Battle of the Bands was an excellent opportunity for students to perform on our bandshell. Thank you to all the performers and staff who helped put together this amazing event. ⭐️
