“I have been fighting a rare ovarian cancer (the silent killer) since 2019 when it was accidentally discovered during a surgery.
My oncologist guessed that I may have had it for two years, even though I was always a regular visitor to my gynecologist and other healthcare professionals. Cancer runs in my family so it’s important to get checked. It’s the slow growing kind, so I guess that’s good. I have had many, many rounds of chemotherapy that didn’t work and lost my hair twice. I have had many tumor removal surgeries that fortunately have kept me feeling pretty good. I eat right and work out to stay strong and try to keep a positive attitude. It could be so much worse, right? And I make memories. I love to travel and see live bands. My friend, Amy joined me for this event and it was an experience of a lifetime!”
