STORY TIME: So on Nov 5th I went for an afternoon ride, I was less than a half mile from my house when this guy decided it was a good idea to run out in the road right in front of me while I was doing no more than 35mph, yes I was doing a wheelie but Utah has no laws against wheelies, so technically I wasn’t breaking any traffic laws. I was on a 40mph road when this incident occurred, again doing only about 35mph in full control of my motorcycle. The video is pretty self explanatory from the time it started to the time it ends. The only key piece missing is the first part where the guy ran right out in front of me, the whole reason why I turned around to confront him in the first place, they then try and say I’ve ridden on there yard with dirt bikes etc when I don’t even own a dirt bike. It’s people like this who create liability and risks for others. If you wouldn’t run out in front of a moving truck then don’t run out in front of a moving motorcycle. They have already reported me to the local sheriffs and posted the last 15 seconds of this video on our local community page where the completely blew the reality of the situation out of proportion. They told the sheriffs and the local community page that I was racing my friends up the road that’s why they ran out in the first place. That right there was a lie, I was all by myself again only doing 35mph in full control of my machine. Yea I dumped clutch and took off, but all of this could have been avoided if this hoser didn’t run out in the road in the first place. Thoughts and recommendations on this confrontation?
UPDATE: after a few days I got contacted by the sheriff, I ended up getting a reckless driving ticket. Not for the wheelie or burnout but because the officer said I put people and property in danger by being in the road and making people pass me in the median! Even though they are the ones who walked into the road to confront me. Karen and Kyle didn’t get a ticket or anything… stay tuned I’ll be making “go play somewhere else” shirts to pay for my lawyer and court fees.
