Shane’s tape manipulation is the crux of this video and his all analog work blows my fucking mind every time I watch it! I’m so stoked it’s out, and I cannot tell you how surreal it feels to be entrusted with visuals from a band who’s music raised not only me and everyone I know, but is a big reason the city I love is the city I love! 🖤 X/LA/FOREVER/LA/X 🖤

Post for @iamheartworms Jacked was such a crazy fun process. @alexcherrypicks and I wanted the edit to feel chaotic, like watching something lost for 90 years and pieced together from old prints with all the roll outs and dropped frames. I personally went in and hand scratched the emulsion off of our print with a safety pin for our effects (THANK YOU @glasseyemerchant for the print!!!). Holy shit I never knew how fun it is to manipulate film stock and watch something you shot projected like that! Thank you @tye1138 for letting me use your desk, projector, and magnifying glasses all day!

My new video for @iamheartworms is out today! I am so stoked on this video. Jojo and I shot this a few months back on their first US tour, it really is some of the most fun I’ve ever had shooting. Loading film and changing magazines on an old Arri 2C from the 60’s, hoping to god something came out. We shot on the steps from the exorcist, in an old abandoned gas station in Mississippi, and at the abandoned zoo in LA among other places. Yesterday I had the honor of filming Neil Young play Ohio on the 54th anniversary of Kent State. Never in a million years did I think that I’d be in the same frame as such an icon, but here I am, one drop in an endless sea of people fully rapt by this amazing performance. My video for @reddkross is OUT TODAY! I can’t believe I had the opportunity to work with this band. I grew up in a punk scene that was pure machismo, everyone had to be tougher than everyone else, everyone had to have a shaved head, baggy pants, and at least one scab on their knuckles. Seeing the footage of Redd Kross on the Santa Monica pier from the Slog movie was one of the first times my adolescent brain was turned onto the fact that you could be different in punk. Diving deeper into their catalogue was (third) eye opening. I saw a world where you could have FUN and be irreverent. It took a lot more learning, and a lot more listening, but I know that their spirit, and this music played a big part in making me the artist my mom tells her friends that I am today.
