Meet Rachael aka @going_grachael – one of our newest namesakes of our EmpowerMatte™ Precision Lipstick Crayon ✨🦋
Rachael started her Instagram account on New Year’s Day 2022 to hold herself accountable to not color her hair, which had recently started turning gray. Since then, she has accumulated a following for documenting her journey and candid conversations around aging, being an influencer in her 40s, and self-love and confidence.
When choosing the namesakes for our EmpowerMatte launch, we knew we had to surprise Rachael. She empowers us to embrace the gift of aging and teaches us that it is never too late to chase our dreams. We are so lucky to have Rachael as a member of our Thrive family and now as a namesake.
EmpowerMatte™ Precision Lipstick Crayon in shade RACHAEL is available exclusively on thrivecausemetics.com 💋💄

It’s not the end of my journey…
…although I never actually knew it would be the start of one. I started this Instagram page 2 1/2 years ago in the hopes of holding myself accountable to not dying my hair. That was literally my only goal.
But just the act of growing out my hair and putting it online, led me down so many amazing paths.
A few people have asked me if I’m going to change my username now that I’m done with “going gray,” or if I’m going to stop posting now.
NOPE! I plan to keep going to see where this crazy online life leads!
But what do you think? Is it time to change my username?
This picture embodies my hopes for not only this summer, but for my future… freedom, love, and laughs.
Had a great time yesterday celebrating a friend’s son who graduated from high school. This particular friend was my first best friend from elementary school. We’ve been in touch on and off throughout the years but mostly on for the past eight or nine.
It’s amazing how people really don’t change… personalities stay the same throughout life. It’s the details that change. She is still the same happy, giving, smart, bubbly, upbeat, funny, free spirited person that she was when we were 10 years old. I feel so blessed to continue to be a part of her life and to have gotten to know her incredible family as it has grown through the years. She has been one of my biggest supporters in social media since the day I started. She always believed in me and was one of the first to cheer me on.
Driving home from the party yesterday we talked about the old neighborhood and how nobody can really understand growing up in Brooklyn in the late 80s and early 90s, unless you were there. I’m so thankful for the way that I grew up and for the people that surrounded me, helping to make my memories and shape the person that I am today.
You can take the girl out of Brooklyn, but you can’t take the Brooklyn out of the girl!
What a fun day yesterday! Excited for more to come this summer.
