#GHHomeTours #GHSmallSpacesSpecial #GHDesignLessonsWithTheExperts Designed by Esha and Edwin Stanley of Concepto Studio, this 1,290sqft home in Thannisandra, Bengaluru, presented a unique challenge with its awkward and open-plan layout lacking clearly demarcated zones. The designers overcame this by implementing well-defined zones, colour blocking, and hidden storage solutions. They ingeniously transformed dead spaces into functional storage areas and used open rafters to maintain an open feel. The extensive use of natural teak throughout the home further enhanced the sense of space and continuity. "This home had an awkward layout without proper zonalized spaces. Designed by Amal Rosa Thomas and Seethu Kurian of Akam Interior Design Studio, this home features wooden rafters on the ceiling, custom-designed pieces of furniture, a stunning curation of heritage artworks and a bold, earthy colour palette. We start by discussing the stunning ceilings with Seethu and Amal, "The ceiling features wooden rafters crafted from dark Rubwood veneer sheets to create a warm and cosy ambience. Complementing this, the custom-made day bed, designed by our skilled carpenters, enhances the inviting feel of this informal living space. This area is an ideal home retreat, perfect for unwinding and casual gatherings." The blend of dark wood rafters and the bespoke day bed reflects our commitment to quality craftsmanship and traditional aesthetics, harmonizing modern comfort with timeless design. The location offers stunning views of the Mumbai skyline and the sea link, inspiring a composition that integrates with its urban environment further influencing the interior's modern aesthetic of sleek lines, minimalist decor and a neutral palette. This splendid bungalow Casa Opulence, located in Gujrat, is conceptualised by Ar. Rajesh Sheth of Designer’s Circle. The designers' first idea was to construct a modern sumptuous home based on the client's specifications… hence the moniker 'opulence.' The architecture style adopted was such that it emphasises privacy without any compromise on interior furnishings for the residents. Spanning over a generous area of 11,600sqft, the residence is home to a close-knit family of five. The ground level of the house is intended to evoke the atmosphere of an underground basement while also providing entertainment choices. It has a bar lounge, a poker section, a pool table area, and a home theatre, so there is plenty of room for social gatherings and entertaining evenings. “Through the ceiling design, lighting, sculptures on the wall, and the painting we have attempted to create a subtle vibe of being in a bar,” explains the designer.
