While we renovate our store this summer, we are thrilled to announce that for a limited time, Gwartzman’s Art Supplies will be hosting a summer pop-up store at Creeds Cafe. This is your chance to support local art businesses and keep creativity alive as we await our grand re-opening this fall.

Hahnemühle has been in the business of making artist's quality paper since 1584.
Hahnemuhle uses a traditional mould making process to create their papers to their high standards. Traditional paper production on the cylinder mould paper machine starts in the vat, in which a round mould rotates. Then they add pure spring water and paper fibres as well as a few other ingredients are mixed inside the vat.
The fibres are either rags (cotton fibres) or wood pulp. In the vat, a round mould cylinder rotates slowly and evenly. The paper is produced at the highest point of the mould cylinder. This is where the paper fibres settle in a disorderly fashion and combine to form a wet paper fleece, perfect for watercolour use.
Hahnemuhle also produces beautiful drawing, pastel and bamboo papers for dry media usage. Link in bio to see them all!

Join Gwartman's with a collage expert from The Japanese Paper Place on Thursday July 11th from 1-4pm to make a set of 10 gorgeous cards!
Each participant will get a kit to make 10 coordinating cards with a stunning range of beautiful papers from Japan. Each pack of papers provided includes Chiyogami, machine made decoratives, tissue and metallic papers. You'll also receive 10 folded cards made of Linen cardstock, inside liners for writing a message and 10 A2-size envelopes.

@peteellisonstudio is an American-Canadian visual artist, illustrator, printmaker, and designer, Pete’s work is a vibrant tribute to the aesthetics of consumer culture. Growing up with the bright cartoons, arcade games, and breakfast cereals of the 80’s & 90’s, his art is a playful and nostalgic celebration of those influences.
Throughout the summer, we will be featuring artists of all backgrounds, but during Pride Month, we want to celebrate diversity. There’s still work to ensure the rights of sexual and gender minorities, and allowing our artists to share their stories and voices is an important part of that effort.
