I remember hearing this song for the first time in high school. I would listen to the born this way album from start to finish everyday on the school bus on medium volume worries that someone would hear me listening to “gay music”. Americano in particular was on repeat for me for many reasons. One of them being the lyrics “ Todos los chicos, y los chicos se estan besando”. Something about hearing those words in Spanish hit deeper than Born this way itself because it rebelled against the machismo of my Mexican upbringing. If only that kid on the bus knew that 12 years later he’d be performing this song in a crowded room, with all eyes on him, the strongest and most confident he’s ever felt. Thank you @ladygaga .
