I invite you inside my newest immersive art experiences in Barcelona, Spain! Journey through The Lady in the Leaves Labyrinth and then lose yourself in the Camouflage Room at @ikono.barcelona . ✨ Each project starts out as a sketch on paper. I spent hours sketching the main 7 designs with color pencils. Once I had the concept laid out, I then drew each one digitally in @adobe illustrator where I could fine tune and edit the compositions. The finished piece included a total of 19 unique panels. Each panel and drawing contains hundreds of elements. With every element representing a thought in the subconscious, the end result had a grand total of 2000 individual elements in the labyrinth alone. #immersiveart #experienceart #art #experience #emergingartsist #artanddesign

I am here in Rome! And while we definitely hit all the roman side quests (and you know I ate cheeseless pizza for breakfast), we were really there to see my exhibits! The last video I posted showed the first time I saw my Barcelona projects in person EVER, but Roma is actually my first immersive baby! Yes, in that Rome - as in Italy! Located in an iconic building that retains its original ceilings and frescos, these artworks live about 50 meters from the Pantheon. The maze and the patterns took over 6 months to develop. I spent hours sketching each of the 7 panels for what has become a labyrinth made of lights and glass. In the end, there are a total of 15 unique panels and with a total of 2000 individual elements etched into the glass.

Here’s my newest maze in Budapest featuring the goddess Persephone. The inspo for “Persephone’s Return” comes from the Greek Goddess of Spring and Queen of the Underworld herself, Persephone. It was her duality that intrigued me. The goddess of life and vitality in the Springtime juxtaposed with her role as Hades’ wife and death in the underworld created a story in my imagination as I envisioned an internal balance and battle between the two responsibilities. The story behind this art depicts the complexity of being human. My aunt gave me a book when I was young about Frederick, the mouse. He sat in the sun storing sounds, sights and words while the other mice stored practical things like food. They scoffed at the need for art as sustenance to get them through the harsh winter but once the mice’s stores and morale ran low, Frederick dazzled and lifted their spirits with his art. I think about this story when I travel - a lot. I am Frederick. Every sensation, everything I see, eat, smell, and touch becomes inspiration for my work. It all surfaces unconsciously as it flows through imagination, to my hands and feeds ideas that, at times, don’t even feel like they belong to me at all. Madrid, me encantó todo. Gracias. As I walked into the maze for the first time, I’m filled with emotion. It fills me with an overwhelming set of emotions and reminds me of how far I have come… how grateful I am to create every day. Tired from the adrenaline, jet lagged and inundated by the feelings I am experiencing, I sit in the corner of the maze. I gaze at the piece consciously trying to remain fully present in the moment. As I sit anonymously in the dark corner, people walk in through the curtain. I can hear expressions of awe. I hear laughter. I heard one person say how you could look at it for hours. I watch two toddlers run around patting the glass with their small hands and squealing with joy. A couple takes a few selfies through the glass panels. How often can you, as an artist, sit anonymously with your work and to observe something you have created through the experiences of the people viewing your work? The opportunity to sit, watch and listen was truly unique. 2 years ago, I wrote a letter to my future self. It described something that looks a lot like this new life I have created. I love the idea of making something beautiful…of creating art out of something perceived as broken.
